London South bank University (LSBU) was established as the Borough Polytechnic Institute in 1892, has focused on providing professional opportunities for all who can benefit for well over a century. The original aim to promote the industrial skill, general knowledge, health and well-being of young men and women' remains remarkably similar today. The continuous focus on vocational education and professional opportunity allows London South Bank University to produce graduates who can meet the challenges of today's workplace.

London South Bank University's main campus is situated in Southwark on the South Bank of the Thames, a short walk from many of London's major landmarks. Learning environment
In the past 10 years alone London South Bank University spent well over £60m in new buildings, location infrastructure, improved teaching facilities and enterprise initiatives. The University has Purpose-built classrooms for ICT, maths, research, PE and dance students, fully-equipped laboratories. Perry Library, at Southwark, holds over 300,000 print books, hundreds of study spaces and over 90 open access PCs. Learning Resources Centre on the Southwark campus holds over 400 open access PCs plus 10 Apple Macs. The LSBU Sports Centre is located on the Southwark Campus, and houses a gym and sports hall. The in-house Sports Injury Clinic provides athletes with facilities for physiotherapy treatment and sports massage.

Accommodation
The London Southbank University has 1,400 single study bedrooms located across 4 residential developments. All student accommodation is located within a 10 minute walk of the main Southwark campus and is in easy reach of the excitement and cultural opportunities that London offers. Accommodation is provided within self-contained apartments, with a choice of en-suite and standard accommodation. Most apartments accommodate between 4-8 residents.
- Dante Road: residence with 414 non-smoking rooms for first year undergraduate, returning and postgraduate students. Its accommodation is single occupancy 'cluster flats' for between four and six residents. Flats share communal kitchen/dining areas and shower/bathing facilities, with each bedroom having its own hand basin.
- David Bomberg House: residence with 289 non-smoking rooms for returning, health and postgraduate students. Its accommodation is single-occupancy en-suite 'cluster flats', mostly accommodating between three to nine residents. Flats share communal kitchen/dining areas and have basic cleaning equipment, including a vacuum cleaner. En-suite facilities feature shower, hand basin and toilet.
- McLaren House: residence with 600 non-smoking rooms for first year undergraduate and returning students. Its accommodation is single occupancy 'cluster flats' for mostly eight students and the vast majority of bedrooms are en-suite (shower, hand basin and toilet). Residents within each flat share a communal kitchen/dining area.
- New Kent Road: residence with 81 non-smoking rooms for first year students. Its accommodation is single occupancy 'cluster flats' for between four to six residents, with each resident sharing a communal kitchen/dining area and bathing facilities.
The Accommodation Service is also able to assist students in finding private rented accommodation in and around London.
